Options
Options Day Service provides educational, social and stimulatory activities for people with learning disabilities. It also forms a respite service for carers.
The service runs from Monday to Friday for 50 weeks of the year. People who attend the service are presented with an individual activity timetable, which provides them with opportunities to access educational, social and therapeutic activities. Service users can also improve their life skills from the opportunities for mixing provided.
At present, people attending Options take part in activities such as horse riding, keep-fit, swimming, T'ai Chi, storytelling, cookery, music groups and gardening.
There is also the opportunity for individuals to gain contact with the community, which for some service users provides them with valuable independent living skills and increases their chances of gaining paid employment and living independently.
